Vernice is the author of best-selling, award-winning Anthology, Vacate Victimville: An Anthology for Hurt, Hope and Healing and author of her debut workbook, Vacate Victimville: The Recovery Workbook. Vernice is also a co-author for the best-selling Anthology, The Breaking Point . This Fall, Vernice’s fourth book project, Women Inspiring Nations, will be released Fall 2022.


Vernice’s motto “Leadership is a lifestyle” was developed decades ago when she was trained as a youth in Toastmasters International, served on City of Pasadena Youth Council, and during her tenure as high school class president. She has since held a multitude of leadership roles in community organizations and as founder and CEO of her own leadership consulting business, Joy Road Solutions, LLC. 


Vernice has earned a reputation as a skilled facilitator and a thought provoking clinician who uses her experience and expertise to cultivate exponential growth. Vernice teaches leaders the effective practice of Solution-Focused Leadership.


As a clinical supervisor and mentor to interns and trainees entering the field of psychology, Vernice is committed to building future clinicians and leaders.


Vernice has worked with many large companies, public service organizations, and associations committed to cultivating a culture of wellness. She is a highly skilled mediator that utilizes her Masters of Public Administration to help organizations create Strategic Improvement Plans that promote mental wellness, reduce burn out, and improve employee satisfaction. 


Vernice’s work has been featured on CBS, ABC, FOX and AB Newswire for her contribution to the Breaking Point anthology endorsed by the legendary Les Brown.  She is also the producer and host of the Vacate Victimville Podcast that promotes Mental Wellness and a growth mindset.
